The Magical Nordic Tarot

 This month my main focus has been the Tarot June Challenge on Instagram  using Supernatural Tarot plus a few other decks ...  

Now as I have completed the first ten days or so of that challenge I wanted to look deeper at the Magical Nordic Tarot as we in the Southern Hemisphere move into the winter months .. The Wheel of The Year turn into the Cooler half of the year...

My quick thoughts ...  

Video Day One 

So with the first video created ... I asked about the energy of this deck with my path over the next couple of weeks /./ The first card I pulled was one of the extra cards from this deck XXII Charity with the keyword Generosity .. to me this spoke of the way the cards were going to be generous with the answers, they were going to be quite gentle and appear to be kind towards me ... The second card that appeared was Seven of Cups with the keyword Choice.. here I felt That I had to choose wisely in which message to follow, act with a sense of discernment on some level,.. even though this deck may be gentle with me I still have to be careful about the choices I made in following the advice given  ...  

Next  I drew Three cards looking at the Past, Present and Future of this journey with this deck ... 

The Three cards were Six of Swords Keyword Boundaries, Knight of Cups Keyword Dreamer and XV The Devil Keyword Boundaries  ...  

Speaking of the Past The Six of Swords speaks of moving ahead, leaving behind old chaos  learning and understanding the need for boundaries , At the moment with the Knight of Cups I am reminded to take  a moment, acceptance of the news that arrives,  emotionally finding a sense of a gentle pull to move ahead, there may be in this moment a sense of Romance... Ahead in the future with XV The Devil,   I am warned that Boundaries  will also be important .. to take what I have learnt from the past and  to apply in the future will be so important ....   so interesting to reflect on this today  ...

XXII Charity 

Generosity 

The Goddess Freya is thought to have had a magical necklace (known as the Brisingamen) that made her irresistible to men!

This card depicts the image of the blue cat. Connected to Freya.  It was thought cats were used to pulled Freya's Chariot.  Cats were given to Freya from Thor and were considered a Nordic symbol of giving and kindness.  

Keywords include Giving, kindness, compassion and independence. 

The Message "What you give, you will receive" 

Summary from Guidebook 

Include the need for self-care, This card encourages one to rely on themselves instead of others at times with love and nurturing. Be kind to self  as well as others in all you do. Maybe this card arrives when you receive a gift from others... being creative at this time  may be important. Alone time may recharge your energy.. Spending time with Animals... 

Seven of Cups, Choices 

Keywords include Inner Guidance, disappointment, wishful thinking, conclusion 

Summary from Guidebook 

Too many choices given.  Romantically it could predict several new love interests. Maybe a friendship, relationship or a family bond may have wilted long ago... It can also speak of a job you once loved no not being a motivation for you.  Your heart  is no longer in that thing you once loved.  Time to save self  ...

Six of Swords-  Boundaries 

Keywords: Recuperation, travel, time out, new destinations. 

The Calm after the storm, Appears after hardship, stress, now the arrival of calmer waters. time to leave the chaos, the drama, distance yourself, find inner peace.  Romantically symbolizes a healing period after a break-up. Predicts exciting overseas opportunities with work or travel across the waters.  

Knight of Cups -Dreamer

Keywords: Idealistic, childish, imagination, creativity

A hopeful romantic.. He is idealistic, charming and charismatic. Follows the heart. Knight in shining armor .  A dreamer instead of a thinker.. Acts on emotion, impulsive. Predicts exciting offers, whirlwind romances, new work opportunities and marriage proposals are all possible.. Being swept off feet when looking for it. Be cautious, what is hidden behind people's words are shown in their action... 

XV The Devil Boundaries 

The God of Thunder, Thor, was renowned for his hot temper. In fact, his rages were so powerful they were thought to create lightning and thunder, 

Keywords: Addiction, lust, passion, self harm, restriction. 

Message " Find your own truth" 

This card arrives to speak of a feeling of entrapment, feeling disempowered by a situation, a person, repeated pattern... Maybe you had a dream but now you feel like you are in a nightmare. The Devil can speak of unhealthy situations, unhealthy relationships. Maybe you find yourself in an affair, a love triangle.  Time to break free of those chains.. Fly free from the cage, the door is open... 

This is  a lot to think about ...  for today  ...

Nordic Warriors would often wear clothing made from wild bears' skin to help them become indestructible in battles.

Keywords: Closeness, completion, love, self-awareness, inheritance, wealth

Keywords: Prosperity, generosity, acknowledgement, home life, attainment... 

There are so much more with these cards when looking at the card position, in that moment keeping in context is so important when doing a reading ...
