May/June/July Tarot Challenge ...
Have looked at different Challenges, and found I have missed the boat on some aspects but also because I don't have any of the decks required I am not able to participate .....
So I wanted to create something that I could do and if anyone wants to try or participate in any way they choose to, totally up to them.... I want this to be a challenge that create fun and flexibility..
You may not feel drawn to participate in all of the days and wanted to spread it over a few months to make it easy for others to choose when they start with no particular start day or end date ....
The Fool's Journey Challenge #thefoolsjourneychallenge
You can do this challenge with one chosen deck or several chosen decks, can combine tarot with oracle, Lenormand and Runes also,, anyway that you feel you can extend your Divination practice ....
Whether you do it weekly or in between you very busy lifestyles I wanted to make it flexible .... Do Each Number over a week if you want, choose a day you will do this each week?
This will give you approx 10 weeks to do this Challenge
Ok Let us Begin with some ideas ....
1) INTRODUCTION
Begin by taking out any of your decks..
Choose one and write or speak about your impressions of the deck as you look through the imagery....
What do you feel this deck speaks about?
How does this deck make you feel?
Describe the thoughts about how you find this deck in reading?
What type of questions does it answer best?
What type of Questions does it seem to refuse to answer?
How do you use this deck? Self or Querants?
How does it shuffle?
2) DISCOVER THE CHARACTER
Take the Fool out of the deck and lay it to one side
Or Choose a Character Card that represents you if not Tarot....
Part A) Describe the Fool, what do you see? Tell us a story about this Fool.
Who is he/She? What do they wear? What about the other characters in the card?
Tell us everything you can about this Fool-
Then think about what the Fool would say if he met himself/herself, what advice would he give himself at this time?
Write down as much as you can about this Fool and his surroundings, scenery, colours, day or night etc!
2) How Well Does the Character Interact?
Part B ...The Fool that you have laid to one side
Shuffle the rest of the deck and choose One card ...
Describe this card fully, every character, colour, symbols, weather, buildings etc ...
How does the Fool interact with this card?
What message do you think the Fool would get from this card?
What do each of the characters say about themselves and what message would they truly impart on the fool ?
Think about this from different aspects of one's life?
What would this card say about Spirituality, Love, Finances, relationships, Self-love, security ?
What would this card say about other aspects within your journey?
3) The Character Moves Ahead....
Take the Fool or Character Card that represents you and lay to one side?
For a moment - take a deeper look at this card, do you notice anything now you did not notice before?
Separate the All the suits, Major Arcana, Wands, Cups, Swords and Pentacles
Or If your oracle cards have categories, or suits ... separate them out ....
Take a breath and focus a moment on your Character or The Fool then take a card from each Suit, category and lay them out with the Character card to the left and moving slowly through each suit ... in no particular order, You decide how you are going to lay this out ...
Now looking at your Character or The Fool and weave a story with the other Cards..
Once upon a Time The Fool came across ......... (Card #1) then describe what may happen, what was the message ..... What did the Fool see? How did he feel? What was said, spoken about?
4) The Character Travels ....
A) With the Fool or the Character take them through the whole Suit ....
Start with The Wands ..... What is the message per card, the Fool learns?
What is the overall message ?
B) Next Take the Fool through the Cups
C) Now through the Swords
D) Now through the Pentacles
E) AT last through the Major Arcana ....
NOTE- Remember Your deck may not be Tarot so do not follow this system ...
Also you do not have to do all of the steps if you do not wish to...
Choose One Suit to share ..... if you want ....
If you Choose Runes to work with .. You could Take A Fool , or A Student through the Journey of Each AETT ... If you want I could write up a separate Rune Challenge ... (As I am thinking up fun ways to learn Divination in a different way )
5) REFLECTION
Have a moment when you sit and reflect what you have learnt over the days you have completed 1-4... Think about The Fool and His journey? What message has he learnt ? What has he discovered about himself ... Now think of yourself as This Character and how it has related to you? What have you learnt and discovered over this time? How do you now feel about this deck? Have you opinions changed about this deck?
Take the Deck you decided to work with .... Shuffle all the cards together
And Choose 5 Cards ...
1) How did I see myself before I started?
2) What did I discover on my Journey?
3) How did I change on this Journey?
4) What may I find if I continue this Journey of Exploration?
5) An overview advice to This path at this time?
6) ADDING SOMETHING NEW
Keep this First Deck and Choose a different type of deck to work with as well ...
Spend this time for a moment to think about this second deck and how it works for you...
The colours, the theme, the Characters overall, the feelings this deck brings up in you....
Get as descriptive as you can about this deck ..... as a whole overall ....
Do you have any favourite or less favourite cards at this time?
Now compare the two Decks in your thoughts ...... how they are Different and how they are similar?
7) CONTEMPLATION
A) You may have found your Character has changed, with growth and expansion and development, the Character may have a different personality, so change the Character you now work with .. It can be from the first or second deck you have chosen to work with ...
So spend today getting to know this Character .... Describe this character, their personality, the clothing, colours etc.. As much as you can about this card ....
B) Now take your First Character and this Second Character ... and look at the similarities and the differences... What are the messages they now speak of ? Write as much as you can about each card and compare them side by side....
8) ENERGIES WITHIN THE CHARACTER Yin-Yang
With this Character lay him to the Left .... and choose a card from each deck (2 card spread)
Yin Yang Energies ....
What is needed at this moment in relation to ......................?
(Choose a Topic, a subject that is important at this time to you)
How does the character interact with the other cards?
What is the message that relates to this moment?
9) WHAT LIES AHEAD FOR THIS CHARACTER?
With this Second Character you are going to weave him in a 6 card spread ...
First Deck lay out three cards in a row
Second Deck Lay out a 2nd Row underneath the first Row
With the Character on the left and then the first Row ....
What does the Character discover in the First Row
then in the Second Row ...
Now what happens when you weave the Character column by Column ..
Column 1, 2 then 3 Reading from deck 1 and deck 2 together ?
What was your overall thought of the message?
10) WHAT JOURNEY DO I TRAVEL?
Put Your Character back in the deck and Shuffle until either a card jumps out or you decide it is time to choose a card with this Question in mind?
What topic do I need to reflect on today?
Put the card Face down and without looking too closely at it ... put it to one side ...
Take both decks and reshuffle each one until either cards jump or you feel that it is done ....
Choose 6 cards from each deck in no particular order ... now put those 12 cards together and shuffle until you feel you are ready now lay out these 12 cards in an Astrological house Spread or a 12 month Spread - in a Clock form (Circle ) you wish to and see how the cards relate ... the cards that are beside each other, diagonal, side by side, across from each other, opposite ... How do the cards speak at this time in each position?
Now take the card you had Face down and place it in the centre ... How does this card relate to the other cards? What cards seem important to the Centre card?
You can do this any way you feel drawn to ?
THE LAST TWO WEEKS OF THE MONTH
Take your time in reflection, contemplation about the last ten weeks .....
You can repeat this as many times as you want with a new deck in any combination you want ...
Try mixing a Lenormand with Runes ...
or Sibilla and Kipper
Any tarot with oracle ... Maybe two tarot or two oracle ... two different Lenormand ....
two Rune Sets .. there are no rules with how you apply these suggestions.. Love to see what combinations you decide to use.....
