Buy, gift or steal?

 There are so many different thoughts about getting your first Tarot deck... 




Must it be gifted? 

No, it is not necessary for your first Tarot deck to be gifted .. This came about with many different thoughts, some of those thoughts began with the Temples, Covens that gave the initiates  their first tarot deck  to begin their Tarot Study from a Mentor, a Teacher within the Temple or the Coven.  An Initiate would also design their Tarot deck themselves after leaning what each card means. How to understand the symbols in a reading?   Another thought came about because of readers wanting to be the only reader in a community so would tell others that Tarot decks needed to be gifted and then they would have to pay the  Teacher, Mentor to teach them Tarot - so in reality the deck would be included in the cost of the course. 

Stealing a Tarot deck ?  

No.. It is not about the magic of the cards, the sense of karma  etc  but the law, the legalities and also the morality of stealing from others.  When you steal from a store - no matter what store it is, it affects the employees, the store profit , this is not just you stealing but includes everyone who steals from the store.  It can also affect the suppliers, the artists, the creators , the printers , the distributors . If something is constantly being stolen, stores will stop ordering it, meaning that it is no longer distributed, no longer reprinted, no longer created. so artists and creators stop being creative .This may not  happen immediately but over time artists/ creators think " Is it worth all that hard work" 

Buy your first Tarot Deck? 

Yes .. it is a possibility.  Begin by looking at the different styles of decks, the different themes.. What art styles interest you?  There are so many to choose from .. I am not saying a gift is not appreciated.. but it is not necessary to start your Tarot Journey.  There are many of us that would never had started learning  Tarot if we had waited for a deck to be gifted....  I brought my first deck and have continued to buy what I like .. yes I have been gifted a couple of decks and I truly appreciate it ... 


My last  thoughts re this topic .. is  To steal from one is to steal from us all , when it comes to Tarot, oracle decks .. as it affects us on different levels over time... 

Go Buy that first Tarot deck, do not wait any longer ...

How I Connect With The Cards...

The Way I Connect with the Cards, the messages as individuals for each person. Knowing that each person is so different from another... I understand that everyone is different, All Readers read differently. They may use tools or no  tools . They may use Cards, Runes, I-Ching, Tea-leaves, palms and crystals.. You may even find a reader that connects with jewelry. There are so many ways a reader will read for a client. Even card readers read differently from each other, Some use Tarot, Oracle, or even Lenormand Cards, Others will use playing cards, they use specifically for Readings. You may find some readers read the cards to set meanings and others use them as Gateways to connect with their Spirit Guide to receive individual messages.  There is no One Correct way. Let us begin with the notion that  the cards are ink and paper, created by artists who wish to share a story. The Story developed over time with characters, symbols, colours. Images that allow one to open up within themselves. Why Do Readers Read Cards Differently?

Each Deck is so Different .. There are many different Tarot decks designed by many different amazing individuals… Every deck is perfect in it’s own way… Some images speak louder than others, that is because we as readers are all very different, we are individuals that like and are drawn to different artwork… Also our thoughts processors are individualized.  Our perceptions are individualized.  No one sees the same image in the same card. Different colours, characters, symbols stand out for each of us. That is why you will find different Tarot readers deliver the same messages in a different way.  And sometimes it can take awhile to make sense of a reading.. The Fool's Journey Through The Wands ....

The Fool, The Student of Life, The Novice, The Young Adventurer, The Dreamer, The Prankster, The Joker ....as He steps out of the darkness into the light, along a path of gravel, He steps through the grass and sees a lone tree ... Shadow aspect spread

 I was reading an issue of Cartomancer I had just purchased and the first thing I read was an article about Solar Eclipse Shadow work ..   A spread was  created by the author so I thought I would try it ..  Taking the  3 Major Arcana Cards out of the pack and laying them with the Sun and Star at the top and the Moon directly below the Sun ..  Shuffling and at first drawing 3 Cards  Laying them between the Sun and the Moon Cards.  Thinking about a positive experience I may have had negative thoughts too . .   I pulled out The Fool, Three of Wands and Five of Cups ...   With the keywords on each of the cards  Change, Communication and Grief  Which I thought was very interesting at this time...   Dealing with a loss on some level there had been some changes and I need to look at how I needed to communicate at the time,,,  But lets dive a little deeper into each card  with my own knowledge of the cards ...  The Fool , looks at new beginnings, new possibilities, having fun, being free-spi
